The Other Side of Air is the first residency in Scotland to link a group of churches and artists to create three residencies spread over nine months.

The artists worked closely with the community to develop and create new artwork with local people and groups.  This happened in a diverse range of locations - the school, community centre, pub, in the church halls and even in the street!

The artists also worked to create an installation to feature in each of the Churches within Inverness City Centre to compliment the theme of Arts & Spirituality

Susan Christie - Project Director
The first phase of the project is now complete and a fascinating dvd has been produced. Several short films are shown alongside the main story. Digital artist, Graeme Roger and sound specialist, Dave Martin worked closely with Inverness-based groups to produce several powerful and varied films,. From the dilemma of whether to wear the veil or not, to representing small acts of kindness, there are many aspects of human experience that are represented. Soundtrack by Calamateur - Andrew Howie - adds an ambient and evocative rhythm reinforcing the otherworldy quality of the artists' installations.

Screening planned to take place at Eden Court Cinema, Inverness on Saturday 18th April from 10.30-12.00.

From 10.30am there will be free refreshments, some background information and distribution of free copies of the dvd to everyone who comes along. For more information about the event, contact Susan Christie 07841-591-873 or Steering Group Chairman, The Very Reverend Canon Alex Gordon 01463-233535
